TECHNICAL SUPPORT AND TRAINING
High Arctic provides its employees with a wide range of in-house technical, safety and system training relating to downhole operations, procedures, industry practices and other related items. The organization developed a comprehensive Competency Based Training Program for its snubbing and workover operations in 2001 and has built upon that model ever since. This competency based platform has been utilized to develop the training requirements for the Drilling, Nitrogen, UBD, MPD, Air Drilling and Rotating Flow Control Head operations. Changes and experience continue to shape the training curriculum, with a focus on developing the most technical, highly skilled people in the industry. The organization also plays a role in developing standards, training competencies and participating in industry efforts to continually improve the safety and operational effectiveness of its services. It participates where it can to set high standards that improve safety and the industry as a whole. High Arctic has a fully operational training centre to facilitate the delivery of operational courses, safety courses, driving and driver improvement courses. The facility in Red Deer has two test wells with one derrick for use in providing hands-on training. The training well can be pressurized and simulate actual well conditions. Two dedicated, training rooms are equipped to meet the growing needs of our expanding operations. We are also certified as a driver training school through Alberta Infrastructure. This provides a high standard to which we can measure our training professionalism and also allows us to create revenue when the driver training department is not being utilized by internal operations. There are 4 full time driver training professionals dedicated to the driver improvement initiative. Our Operational and Safety Training group includes an additional three full-time certified Trainers to administer the various courses offered at High Arctic. Our commitment to personnel development and training is second to none and we take great pride in serving our customers with the highest skilled people in the industry.
