RIG ASSIST SHALLOW GAS DIVISION
Rig Assist Shallow Gas

Designed more compact for single derrick rigs, up with ease on all service rigs, but shares its versatility on free standing single derricks with it's ability to self erect and reduce the sideways pressure on the derrick. This creates a safer environment for all men involved and develops a stress-free rig-up for the driller on the service rig. The shallow gas fleet concentrates on wells with depths of 2,000 meters or less and 2,000 lbs or less.

The High Arctic Energy Services Rig Assist Snubbing Unit is a truck mounted hydraulic system that can be used on most well servicing and drilling units. The Rig Assist Snubbing Unit works in conjunction with the other services on location to manage the well while it is under pressure. The system function is to run and/or remove pipe with hydraulic tongs at as reasonable a rate as the well dictates; doing all of this with the highest regard to the safety of everyone on location.

A truck mounted 5,000 psi hydraulic jack for snubbing, integrated with two (2) 7 1/16" BOP's (annular and single gate) and an equalize/ bleed-off spool w/ two (2) 1" hydraulically actuated plug valves. The jack has slips for pipe sizes from 1.135" to 3 1/2". The unit also has two (2) integrated work baskets and a 10' stroke two legged jack. This unit is capable of pulling 120,000 pounds, and has a snub capacity of 60,000 pounds. For pipe handling, the unit comes with a set of 4 1/2" power tongs with an integrated hydraulic back up.

Since this is a modular unit, it can be rigged up in as little as one hour. The unit is picked up by the well servicing rig or drilling rig, and in most cases, only one lift is required. The bleed off line is connected to the rigs tank or test equipment, while the equalize line is connected to the casing valve, or a valve with access to well pressure. The unit is cross chained back to the rig's derrick, the ladder is extended and the escape/egress poles are set in place.
